Somehow, we found ourselves taking Danielle and two of her friends up to Sheffield today. There were some dreadful bands playing in the Meadowhall Centre as part of a piece of nonsense organised by Sugar magazine. So while they screamed at that, M and myself spent five long hours wandering around aimlessly, confused, again, by Game's policy of having two shops in the same mall and managing to buy little more than a pair of baguettes for lunch at a mock-French restaurant and a nifty hooded top. It was a looooooooong day, saved only by a great compilation cassette that played on the way down and back containing such gems as Marilyn Manson's The Nobodies and Green Day's Basket Case. It garnered little in the way of a response from the miserable teenage girls sitting on the back seat, which, if read between the lines, is as good a compliment as you're gonna get.
