Crazy horses...

Bukowskiesque run of bad luck at the racetrack. I mean, just look at our faces, we're on the verge of tears. My old mum will now have to go and live outside the BBC building. You'd think that between three of us there'd have been at least one winner over six races. But no, it was just a bleeding waste of money. The lowest point came when a horse we'd backed was just about to start leading the field, dashing up the inside going great guns, when it hit a pothole and unseated the rider. This is flat racing, you at least expect your donkey to get round the track with the tiny bloke on its back.
Not a massive turnout at Beverley, probably due to the fact that yesterday was the busiest day of the year - the excuse for wearing a hat that is Ladies Day. Strange, though, you'd think more punters would embrace a two day festival of all things equine. Unless they all lost yesterday.
