No pictures!

As I walked back through the city centre I spotted a traffic warden going about her business. Nice photo-op, I thought, and asked permission to snap away as she was slapping the ticket on the screen. "We're not allowed," she said, then turned her back on me. I wanted to say, "Not allowed? You're allowed to lift our windscreen wipers and stick things to our windscreens but we can't get a photo for non-commercial use?" But I didn't. Instead, I said, "well, what if I don't ask your permission?" So, here's the cheeky result. Just look at that poor motorist legging it back to her car to plead her case and save herself £30.

These disagreements you have with officials are so funny. I imagine there is both brevity and a miffed-ness about them. Have you captured the (soon to be) poor motorist running back to their car there?

Sorry, I meant levity not brevity.

I thought I'd better quit while I was ahead so walked on without taking any more pics. Although now I'm wishing I'd hung about for the full showdown. Dunno about the levity thing - I'd like to think you've got it spot on but M tells me I'm just plain rude!
