Salvation...

Something of a celebratory air around these parts today. A package dropped on the doormat with one hell of a clatter. It was large and brown and begging to be opened immediately. "Congratulations! We are delighted to tell you that your Grants for the Arts application has been successful". Hurrah! And didn't you just always wonder who those freakish individuals were that got these hand outs? Now you know! Props to the City Arts Unit in Hull for helping me with the application.

I've started taking an interest in what was, in its day, or so I've always been led to believe, the largest graveyard in the city. Yeah, I know, it's macarbre. But it's an interesting, eerie place to spend some time. It has been dissected by industry for a long time and many of the 19th century graves are lost amid weeds and wild plants and the headstones rendered unreadable by the elements, but there are some amazing sights to behold that almost make it worthwile getting caked in mud and prickled by the bushes.
