Smaller

Of course it could just be Wagon Wheel/Refresher syndrome but I swear that the Christmas tree in the city centre shrinks just a little bit more every year. Give it another 50 years and there'll be nothing but a twig. I mean, look at it, it's just twice the size of that woman in the foreground. Which makes it, what, 10ft 4"? It's just not good enough for a city of such import. The tree, I think, should be at least ten million times the height of the BBC big screen. And weren't these things always a gift from the people of Norway? I never could understand why but I'd grown accustomed to all the international goodwill in the air at this time of year. This year, though, the tree comes from Swanland Nurseries, which is just up the road. No mention of it being a gift at all. How did we upset the Norwegians? Or have they just run out of trees after giving them away for 50 years?
