Shout it out loud...

If you like to plan well ahead you might be interested to know that tickets for my new play On A Shout went on sale exclusively online today. Go on, treat yourself.

We've come a long way since this blog started, eh? Back then I was only dreaming about being commissioned and here I am, on my third for Truck and getting a run the length of which I never thought would happen. I hope all your dreams are coming true too.

Dude,

Having shared quite a lot of yo journey and various salty seadog tales, I am delighted that On A Shout has made it, and am sure it will flourish across the theatrical seas. My dreams of bringing Gage Rathbone's fish n' chip musical odyssey to fruition are also still very much alive! Well done, sunbeam!

I'm tempted to make a run down the M62 and have asked the good people at Hull City Council bid for my custom. They're putting a Hull Ale Trail in the post.

But are coffee and cake matinees a good idea? The Odeon does tea and biscuit matinees for older people, which I think is very bad idea. They often struggle to make it through to the end without a toilet break as it is and some films are over two hours nowadays. And might On A Shout's strong language present a choking hazard?

Excellent news, Dave. I look forward to it. I believe those dates are free in my diary.

Very happy for you, I'm ashamed to admit that I've never been to Hull Truck Theatre, I might have to make this my first time.

Congratulations! And if things keep on as they are we will be able to launch the lifeboat from the theatre in St Stephens directly into the North Sea.

Thanks gents (where are the laydeez at?!). Loz - what say you, me and Rathbone get together sometime soon over a few cool beers and, for Rathbone, a mug of Horlicks and a crack pipe? Stephen - apparently the coffee and cake pound is a big one, although the same can't be said for the cakes. Point taken re the toilets but the language, well, they all swear like a right bunch of f***ing bastards round here so that won't matter. Nick - don't feel as if you have to come along every night. Bazza - I would love to take your Truck virginity. Music Man - I did make a suggestion at an early production meeting that we flood the auditorium for added realism but now it looks as if nature could be taking care of that for me. I'm also pushing for a retractable roof to let the elements in, as well as any passing elephants who might have misread this.
