My employer appears to be totally missing the point of Children in Need. And I quote...."we're a major organisation with a reputation to maintain!! And we'll get the profile for doing this too!!" (their exclamation marks). 'We' apparently need the cheque to be as big as possible, because the event is being televised. Oh, yippee fucking doo. Let's pretend we give something back, eh, and then spend the other 364 days of the year reverting to type. Would someone like to stand up and be honest and say that this is about "brand awareness" rather than placing money into the hands of organisations that can make a difference to the lives of children? No, didn't think so. Charity's not a publicity stunt, Killing Time kids.
