The thrill of seeing your name in print wears off pretty quickly and to say I'm indifferent to seeing my byline on the pages of a regional paper is a massive understatement. But I got rather excited last night, at the vegetarian restaurant, which was great, to see that a local indie night had opted to use an article of mine as the entire basis for some postcard-sized publicity. It seriously infringed (the newspaper's) copyright and no doubt Rothermere of Northcliffe Towers would come down on the perpetrators heavily if he got a sniff of what they've done with a page belonging to the evil empire. But it made me feel very warm indeed. As did the chilli peppers that were part of the birthday celebrations. Careful with the fireworks tonight, gang. And have a good Diwali.
