Final destination...

The library trip - the first of many - went well. Hard, at this stage, to know what I'm actually looking for. But already an idea is starting to form, way ahead of any self-imposed deadline. It's an interesting world that exists through those doors; cases full of Winifred Holtby and Andrew Marvell, old men scribbling furiously into notepads, librarians dissecting newspapers with very sharp scissors. And very peaceful and calm.

Thoughts with Hull FC today, who are well and truly back on the map. Indeed, if they beat St Helens today, they will be the cartographers of Super League. It's a final, it's anyone's game, but what an amazing achievement if they can break up the usual Super League monopoly and cart that Grand Final trophy back to the city. Here's hoping.

Sadly it wasn't meant to be, due to some appalling refereeing decisions, and the fact that they were slightly better than us (if I'm honest). One wonders if and when Parkinson is going to turn it around.
