Next big thing? Well, if the next big thing is Happy Mondays with U2's The Edge on guitar then, yes, I have seen the future. The Twang provided an upbeat evening nevertheless. A jolly, very appreciative crowd. A bit laddish. They were having a lot of fun on stage. An occasional glimmer of infectious, danceable tunesmithery (The Neighbour a prime example) that made me move, an interesting pair of vocalists, baggy was back, the long summer days of the 80s had returned. But we weren't standing in a field, we were in a very hot room off Beverley Road in unfashionable Hull and it was 2007. Be nice to read what dedicated local scribe Michelle Dee made of it all. Saw the Harrisons beforehand. They're okay too. Indeed, Blue Note inhabited my myspace page for a while. Back in the days, the days, the beautiful days...
