Dropped into the city's municipal gallery, the Ferens, to have a glance at the Made In Hull exhibition, which comprises things that have been made in Hull and, inexplicably, a few things that weren't made in Hull. Best was the piece to the left, which went by the title: "Bowie mania! David Bowie boob tube" and was made in Hull in 1973 by an unknown artist. "It is strange," points out the accompanying information, "that the sequins say 'Dave' rather than 'David'. Maybe this was deliberate. It's more likely that the person making it ran out of room and had to shorten the name!" Value? Priceless.
