I had to attend a meeting this week but, as I had an existing appointment on the same day that overlapped, I'd already warned people that I'd have to leave early. On the way to the meeting, I got stuck in traffic, so I also turned up late. So late, that I spent all of the meeting trying to get to grips with what the meeting was about. "I'm sorry to interrupt," I said at my time of departure, "But I'm going to have to leave now. Apologies for arriving late, leaving early and contributing absolutely nothing." "So what's new?" someone chipped in.
