Porridge...

I found myself in Hull Prison today. No, the law hadn't finally caught up with me - I was there on an official tour for research purposes. It was just like being in an episode of Porridge, only without Norman Stanley Fletcher and Lenny Godber. At no point did anyone rattle a steel mug against their cell door, nor did anyone shout 'nonce' at me. There were many interesting things that I discovered, not least that the helicopter-proof caged exercise yard from the prison's Category A days is now used as a scaffolding training centre for inmates.
